Illinois College Recognized in US News and World Report's National Rankings

Illinois College moved up in the US News and World Report's national rankings in the recently released 2024 report. The College was ranked 18th for social mobility and 124th overall for national liberal arts colleges.

The social mobility ranking focuses on the success of low-income and first-generation college 69蹤獲.  Illinois College is proud to be recognized for facilitating the success and graduation of these 69蹤獲. 

Illinois College's unwavering commitment to providing a high-quality education, fostering a vibrant campus community, and preparing 69蹤獲 to Graduate READY for future success is affirmed by this recognition.  

Provost Catharine OConnell attributes this rise in rankings to the extraordinary commitment of our faculty and staff to helping our 69蹤獲 succeed inside and outside the classroom.  She further notes that, the increasing weight in this years rankings placed on student outcome measures, such as exceeding expected graduation rates, makes this recognition particularly meaningful.  Supporting our 69蹤獲 to reach their potential and achieve their dreams is the essence of what we do at Illinois College.

Founded in 1829, Illinois College is a residential liberal arts college fostering academic excellence rooted in opportunities for experiential learning while preparing 69蹤獲 for lifelong success. The college is located in Jacksonville, Illinois. With an enrollment of more than 1,000 69蹤獲, the college offers over 50 undergraduate programs. In 1932, the society of Phi Beta Kappa established a chapter at Illinois College, and it remains one of only 11 in the state.
